Compost & Amendments

Composts are typically used to increase organic matter, improve soil fertility, increase water retention, and help feed the soil food web. Our high quality compost blends can be used as a mulch or amendment to help increase available nutrients and vitality in your garden. All of our composts are composted at 131° F for a minimum of 5 days, which kills any pathogens or weed seeds and ensures a clean, stable product.   • Alll Green Compost

    All Green Compost

    Our All Green Compost is made from green waste materials (i.e. grass clippings, leaves, etc.) that landscapers and homeowners bring to us for recycling. We grind these materials and add urea, calcium nitrate, single super phosphate, iron sulfate and oyster shell flour. All Green Compost has a neutral pH and can be used in a wide variety of landscape planting. It’s a great soil conditioner for breaking up adobe/clay soil and provides moisture retention in sandy soil. Use All Green Compost when preparing soil for new lawn or as a general mulch.

  • Clean Green Organic Compost

    Clean Green Organic Compost

    Clean Green Organic Compost is made from 100% upcycled composted green waste material that landscapers and home owners bring to our yard. This material is fully composted, screened, and free of any added fertilizers. All of our green waste material is inspected thoroughly upon arrival for any contaminants such as garbage, dirt, plastic, sod, pampas grass, bamboo, manures, or rocks.  We do not accept any municipal green waste and we’re proud of the clean quality that we produce.

    You can incorporate Clean Green Organic Compost into your garden with several methods. Use it as a top dressing (2-3 inches) for all the advantages a mulch provides, such as more constant soil temperature, increased water retention, and weed suppression. If you have sandy soil, use Clean Green as a conditioner by mixing in up to 50% of the tilled depth. This method will provide high humus content that will provide increase the water holding capabilities of your soil.  If you have clay soil, follow the same method. Clean Green’s high humus content will increase aeration and drainage for clay soils.

    Grab N’ Grow Organic Compost

    Grab N’ Grow Organic Compost is a nutrient rich soil conditioner that can also break up clay soil and provide moisture retention in sandy soil. It works as a great amendment for raised bed gardening.

    Our Grab N’ Grow Organic Compost is made from recycled green materials that landscapers and homeowners bring to us. This material is composted then blended with Azomite, Blood Meal, Dolomite, Feather Meal, Gypsum, Kelp Meal, Oyster Shell, Seabird Guano, Soft Rock Phosphate, Vermicompost and 7.5-5-7.5 organic fertilizer.

    Harvest Moon Organic Vineyard Compost

    Our Harvest Moon Organic Vineyard Compost is made with the vintner in mind. It makes an excellent ground cover or serves as a great soil conditioner to revitalize existing soil. The simple blend of ground grape pomace, screened green waste, and oyster shell flour makes this compost potassium rich without high nitrogen fertilizers or manures added. Because this compost is manure-free,  it is a great choice for any veganic gardeners in Sonoma County who want to introduce nutrients to their garden without using animal by-products. All of our organic pomace is sourced from local Sonoma County wineries.

    You can incorporate Harvest Moon Organic Vineyard Compost  into your garden with several methods. Use as a top dressing (2-3 inches) for all the advantages a mulch provides, such as more constant soil temperature, increased water retention, and weed suppression. This organic vineyard compost will also introduce numerous beneficial organisms to your soil over time.   • Mango Mulch Organic Compost®

    Mango Mulch Organic Compost®

    A unique soil conditioner and fertilizer in one, this is what we’re famous for! Mango Mulch improves soil texture, and is nutrient rich. This organic compost is great for fruit trees, vegetable gardens, and flowers. It doesn’t have any mangos in it, but it does contain organic horse and cow manure, grape pomace, rice hulls, greensand, and soft rock phosphate. All of our manures are sourced locally in Sonoma County and tested for contaminants down to the parts per billion at the source site.

    You can incorporate Mango Mulch into your garden with several methods. Use as a top dressing (2-3 inches) for all the advantages a mulch provides, such as more constant soil temperature, increased water retention,  and weed suppression. If you have sandy soil, use Mango Mulch as a conditioner by mixing in up to 50% of the tilled depth.   • Nitro Sawdust

    Nitro Sawdust

    This Nitrogen rich soil amendment is used to promote growth. Designed for blending into native soil, this mixture is a cost effective way to transform your existing dirt into fertile soil that retains moisture and has a proper pH balance. Nitro Sawdust can also be tilled into your soil to make it more loose and workable in-between plantings. Many of our customers like to use Nitro Sawdust to revitalize their lawns.

  • Rhododendron Mix

    Rhododendron Mix

    Rhododendrons are acid-loving plants, meaning they don’t like manure based products due to the high salt content in manure, and require a planting blend with low pH and excellent drainage. Our Rhododendron Mix provides that by blending raw fir bark, 1/4″ minus fir bark, 5/16″ minus lava rock, nitro sawdust, 38-0-0 fertilizer, single super phosphate, dolomite 65, gypsum, and ferrous sulfate. Use as a top dressing for your flowers or blend 50/50 with native soil.

    The Real McCoy Organic Compost

    For those who love chicken manure’s high nitrogen content, this is the compost for you. It’s great for vegetables, fruits, and roses. The Real McCoy Organic Compost contains screened green waste, organic horse manure, organic chicken manure, ground grape pomace, rice hulls, oyster shell flour, greensand, soil sulfur, and Azomite™.

    You can incorporate this organic compost into your garden with several methods. Use as a top dressing (2-3 inches) for all the advantages a mulch provides, such as more constant soil temperature, increased water retention, weed suppression, and increased organic matter.  If you have sandy soil, use The Real McCoy as a conditioner by mixing in up to 50% of the tilled depth.
